- Further expansion in 1999 with sand testing, chemical testing, and metallurgical testing by putting Optical Emission Spectrometer from Switzerland, Universal tensile testing Machines, Impact, and hardness Testing Machines, and complete Sand Testing Laboratory for rigorous sand control for quality castings.

- Presently KMRIPL owns three machine shops with State-of-The-Art imported CNC machines i.e., HMC, VMC, VTL Turning Mill, turning Lathes, etc from MAZAK Japan, DOOSAN / South Korea, etc along with 3 in house conventional machine shops supported by CNC, CMM, ZEISS/ Germany for measurement of machined components.

Factory Outreach
- The company caters to the whole of Indian Railways with all locomotive manufacturing units like CLW, DLW, DMW, etc, and exports to more than five countries across the globe.
